Metatag: You're IT - a talk for Ignite?
Saturday, 28 August 2010 23:42

I've been musing on how misunderstood are a few metatags that can make or break a website. It occurred to met that a 5 minute presentation would be perfect to cover this little topic. I'd love to participate in my third IGNITE presentation, on September 22nd. Would you vote for me? Go here http://bit.ly/ignitehope to register (if you haven't already) and vote. And please come. It's always a blast.

Youtube video has no audio, but the slides are there!

The Google Maps videos slides are helpful, even without audio. But I'll try to resolve the audio thing tomorrow and upload a new version.

Do you have a Google Place?
Sunday, 25 April 2010 23:58
I just created a Google Place page for Steve Swart's new Santa Fe Acupuncture location. I'll be giving a 5 minute PPT at Ignite-NM this Wed eve, along with other wildly diverse and interesting presenters. Should be fun. It's free and there will probably be food and drink. Come if you're in town. If not, I'll be uploading the video as soon as it comes out. It will have some similarities to the one I did in March in Albuquerque, on Winning Google's Heart.

Can people find your site on their phone?
Friday, 02 April 2010 18:24
Search for yourself on maps.google.com. If listed, make sure you claimed your listing. If not, go back to the maps.google.com home page and choose Put your business on Google Maps.

The rowdiest consultation request ever:
Friday, 07 May 2010 16:08
Although I am married, I'd like to have a sordid affair with Google. I have a dead website, no blog, sporadic social networking action, and a pdf newsletter. Of course, I'm on a budget, but am committed to at least Botox injections if Google will love me. I'd appreciate your guidance on cost-effective strategies to get 'G'Man's attention.

How much should you pay for web hosting?
Tuesday, 27 April 2010 18:18
A client just told me he's paying $150/month for hosting! After designing sites for 12 years, and going through HELL with hosts, the best company I've found is bluehost.com. They charge $6.95/month for UNLIMITED storage and UNLIMITED websites. Their service is incredible.
